Thames Valley Police will be opening applications to the first of two rounds of the Community Fund in 2023 on Monday 16th January at 9am.
The Community Fund, jointly managed by the PCC and the Chief Constable, helps to prevent crime and keep communities safe. Money for the scheme is created from the proceeds from the sale of items seized from criminals that cannot be returned to their rightful owners.
Grab your gardening gloves and wellies and join the West Berkshire community on Saturday 21 January to help plant a new community orchard.
West Berkshire Council (WBC) staff and members of the public will join together to plant 30 fruit trees and hedges in the green space at Almond Avenue and Poplar Place, Newbury. This site has been chosen as it is owned by WBC and is a popular open space for recreational use with play areas and space for dog walking.
If you are a local charity or community group that is delivering a Cost of Living Crisis project, you still have time to apply for funding from the Greenham Trust Cost of Living appeals. The Trust has set up funding partnerships with both Basingstoke and Deane and West Berkshire Councils to address this urgent issue in our local communities.
The deadline for applications is Midnight on Tuesday 17th January.
The annual West Berkshire Health and Wellbeing Conference is being held on 31 January (2pm to 5pm) and everyone is invited to take part.
