A Level 3 Heat Health Alert has been put in place by the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) in the east and south-east of England, while a Level Two alert has been issued for the rest of England. They will remain in place until 9am on Friday.
Windmill Road in the Parish of Stratfield Mortimer is currently closed and will be reopen on 13th July 2022. The closure is between its junction with Victoria Road and Longmoor Lane.
This emergency closure is to able Thames Water to carry out urgent repairs on their network.
Residential access will be maintained throughout .
Further to Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council adopting the decommissioned BT phone box located at the junction of Victoria Road and Kings Street, in support and recognition of the NHS and the work undertaken by its staff during the pandemic, the Council agreed to paint the box in NHS blue. Notification of this decision was given in the Council’s Autumn 2021 newsletter.
