Padworth Road Closure - 21to 25 November 2022

Reading Road in the Parish of Padworth  will be closed on 21st to 25th November 2022, the closure will be between its junction with Silver Lane and its junction with Rectory Road.

An alternative route is via Unnamed Road from Padworth Road to along County Boundary (leading to Stephens Firs), Stephens Firs, Victoria Road, West End Road, Welshmans Road, and vice versa.

Free Christmas Shopper Service on Saturdays

From Saturday, 19th November until Saturday, 24th December (Christmas Eve), West Berkshire Council will once again be offering Free Bus Travel on public buses across the district on Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.

Speedwatch Volunteers Needed

Mortimer now has its own Automatic Speedwatch Camera!  Combined with the existing SID machine, we are now more effective in our attempts to deter speeding through our village.

You may have noticed the new signs that have gone up on each of the entrances to Mortimer.  These are required in order to deploy the new machine which records the speed and details of vehicles exceeding the speed limit, which are then submitted to Thames Valley Police for further action.
