SMPC’s Community Grant Fund is open

The Council regularly supports community-based initiatives, such as Handybus, Burghfield and Mortimer Volunteer Bureau and the Tadley based Citizens Advice. The purpose of the Community Grant Fund is to provide financial support for charity, voluntary and non-commercial organisations which do not routinely seek assistance from the Council, but which support initiatives for the benefit of the Parish and/or its inhabitants.

Briarlea Road - Essential Carriageway Surfacing

West Berkshire Council’s contractor, Volker Highways Ltd., will be undertaking essential carriageway surfacing on Briarlea Road, Stratfield Mortimer. Work is programmed to go ahead between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm on 27 & 28 September 2022.

Closure of Kiln Lane - 13 September 2022

Kiln Lane - Mortimer is currently closed, the closure is from the junction of The Street along its length (actual point of closure is not know at this time). There is no alternative route, thus residential access will be maintained throughout.

The closure is expected to remain in place until 14th September 2022.

This is an emergency closure so that repairs can be made to a visible leak.

West Berkshire Household Support Fund

West Berkshire Council is offering funding to support low-income households in the most need, including pensioners who would otherwise struggle with the rising costs of living. You must be living in West Berkshire.

The Household Support Fund is also open to any resident aged 66 or over, and who is on a low income (i.e. receiving Guaranteed State Pension Credit) and may be struggling to make ends meet on their basic outgoings.
