Christmas Tree and First Advent Sunday

The parish council Christmas elves were out on The Fairground on Friday morning installing this year’s tree. Thanks to Graham Bridgman, Amanda Marsden, Hugh Kilshaw, Andrew Richardson, and to James Strang and his telehandler.

On Advent Sunday, 3rd December at 7pm, after the service in St John's church, there will be a Blessing of the Christmas Tree and turning on of the lights on The Fairground, led by Father Paul Chaplin.

Four Houses Corner – Public Meeting

West Berkshire Council will be holding a public presentation at St John’s Hall, West End Road, Mortimer, on Monday, 11th December from 6pm to 8pm.  This meeting is part of the current public consultation that is taking place regarding plans for the redevelopment of the Four Houses Corner Travellers Site and will include a question-and-answer session.

Job Vacancy: Assistant to the Clerk

An opportunity exists for a talented person with strong administrative skills to become a key member of the Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council team and assist the Parish Clerk in the smooth running of the Council.  Ideally the successful candidate will be available to take up this position from the end of January.

Parish Council Surgery - 17th of November

Councillors Heath Geary and Danusia Morsley were delighted to meet some residents at The Baobab last Friday - the first of many, hopefully, Parish Council Surgeries.
