Footway improvements adjacent to the Cafe and Estate Agents in Victoria Road, Mortimer are being undertaken from the 19th of February 2024 with works scheduled to last four days. To undertake these works safely a short footway diversion will be in place around the works. There will also be two-way temporary traffic signals in place for the duration of the works.

The breast screening van will be returning to The Fairground car park on Monday the 12th of February and will be remaining on site for 8-12 weeks.
All those eligible for screening i.e. those ladies aged 50 - 70 and registered locally, shall automatically receive an appointment. Others who are 71 and over, and those who are not registered, and have not had a mammogram in the last three years may self-refer by calling 0118 3228282.
West Berkshire Council has responded to an intervention from the Secretary of State which blocked withdrawal of the Local Plan Review.
Last month the WBC had published a proposal to withdraw the Local Plan ahead of it going to Examination In Public. Before councillors could vote, the Minister of State for Housing, Planning and Building Safety, Lee Rowley MP wrote to the Council instructing that the examination continues as planned.
