War Memorial
The Council maintains the Parish War Memorial on The Street in Mortimer.
Major John Kemp carried out research in 2004 on the servicemen listed on the Parish War Memorial. This has been available for reference in Mortimer Library but in 2016 the Parish Council made it available online (pdf opens in new window). The publication starts with an introduction to the research and Mortimer. There is then a 'Roll of Honour' listing the names of those killed in WW1. Following this are Major Kemp's short notes on each name with hyperlinks to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission records for that casualty, including cemetery and grave location where known. This format is then repeated for WW2.
