Scottish Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are closing Goring Lane, Grazeley Green for 9 months from 17th November. We assuming they will only close shortish stretches at a time but the closure will be total. Whilst SSEN have sent letters to Goring Lane resident, they don’t seem to have told residents of adjacent roads.
The diversion they are posting will route traffic from Grazeley, past the station & through Mortimer to Reading Road.

Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council wishes to invite all residents of the Parish to attend a Parish Meeting on Saturday, 25 October 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mortimer Community Centre, Victoria Road, RG7 3RD.
The meeting will be held to discuss the proposed development of 350 houses and a travellers’ site on the boundary of Mortimer.
There will be a road closure in Windmill Road between its junctions of Briar Lea Road and its junction with The Crescent from 20 to 24 October. This is to enable Kings Meadow Homes to relay three patches in the road, following on from the works to install a new manhole hole. The Parish Clerk of Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council has today written, on behalf of the Chairman of the Planning and Highways Committee, to the Chief Executive of West Berkshire Council asking what action is being taken regarding the proposed inclusion of ‘Land at West End Road Farm, Mortimer’ in the emerging Basingstoke and Deane Local Plan.
