Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council has issued a media release in response to the motion approved by West Berkshire Council on 16 July 2026 concerning Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s proposed development at West End Farm, Mortimer.

Please be informed that the UK Health Security Agency has issued an amber heat-health alert for the South East, which covers West Berkshire.
The alert is in effect from from 9AM on 08/07/2026 until 9PM on 12/07/2026 across the South East. The amber alert has a matrix score of 12.
Birch Lane will be closed from its junction with West End Road on the 22 July from 07:00 until 19:00. This is to enable Volker Highways to resurface the road.
