Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council is looking for someone who can advise re health and safety.

Very sad news

We would like to inform you that sadly our custodian Frank Stansfield passed away suddenly. He was a great support to the Council, having worked in the role for nearly nine years. Assisting with maintaining Council run land and property, his familiar figure on The Fairground, early in the morning come rain and shine, and about the village shall be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Annual Parish Meeting

Come and meet your Parish Councillors and some of your local groups and find out what has been happening in the community. This is also your chance to come and tell the parish council what you are concerned about in the village.

There will be a series of short talks plus plenty of time for anyone in the audience to express their views on any local topic. The evening will include (order to yet be decided):

Meet your Parish Councillors

Would you like to meet your Parish Councillors? Do you have a question about your local community or services? Do you have an idea that would make Mortimer a more pleasant place to live? 

If so, there will be Councillors you can speak to on these and other topics at the Baobab on Thursday 4th April between 10am and 11am, and at the Horse and Groom from 7pm.

Art Competition deadline extended

It seems that most of our young artists have been very busy with school work and haven’t had time to create any entries for the My Mortimer art competition as we have received incredibly few. As a reminder there are 3 categories: Years F- 2, Years 3- 6 and Years 7-13. The intention is to give a £50 cash prize in each category but also to present other, smaller cash prizes depending on the number of entries received. All the details are in the Spring 2024 Parish Council newsletter on page 8,
