The Parish Council is pleased to announce the appointment of three new councillors: David Backhouse, Stewart Child, and Neil Williams. They have recently joined the Council and bring with them a range of skills, experience, and a shared commitment to serving the local community.
The Council warmly welcomes David, Stewart, and Neil, and looks forward to working with them as they take up their new roles in supporting and representing parish residents.
This is an annual award given to a person who has devoted outstanding time and energy for the benefit of the community of Stratfield Mortimer, irrespective of whether or not they live in the village.

Thank you to everyone who attended the public meeting on 8th December 2025 at St John’s Hall, where over 250 residents gathered to hear updates on the proposed 350-home development at West End Farm (Site SPS5.15).

Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council has written to Olivia Bailey MP (Reading West and Mid Berkshire) and Alex Brewer MP (North East Hampshire) regarding the proposed allocation of Site SPS5.15 – Land at West End Farm, Mortimer in the Basingstoke and Deane Draft Local Plan.
This follows earlier correspondence sent on 23rd September 2025, and reflects the growing concern within the community over the scale and location of the proposed development.
