Free CPR and Defibrillator demonstrations

After a recent post on Facebook our local ambulance Community First responders Tom and Emma invite you to free CPR and Defibrillator demonstrations. An opportunity to learn more and understand how Public access defibrillators are accessed in an emergency. This is an informal session.  Please come and join Tom and Emma and they can answer any questions you may have and show you the skills that one day could save a life.

Mowbray Hill and Brewery Common road closure

Mowbray Hill and Brewery Common in Mortimer will be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 on 19th April 2024, from the junction with Goring Lane to its junction with Hammonds Heath Road.  The closure is to enable Volker Highways to carry out permanent carriageway repairs on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
 
The diversion will be signed on site.

Very sad news

We would like to inform you that sadly our custodian Frank Stansfield passed away suddenly. He was a great support to the Council, having worked in the role for nearly nine years. Assisting with maintaining Council run land and property, his familiar figure on The Fairground, early in the morning come rain and shine, and about the village shall be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
