The breast screening van will be returning to The Fairground car park on Monday the 12th of February and will be remaining on site for 8-12 weeks.
All those eligible for screening i.e. those ladies aged 50 - 70 and registered locally, shall automatically receive an appointment. Others who are 71 and over, and those who are not registered, and have not had a mammogram in the last three years may self-refer by calling 0118 3228282.
West Berkshire Council has responded to an intervention from the Secretary of State which blocked withdrawal of the Local Plan Review.
Last month the WBC had published a proposal to withdraw the Local Plan ahead of it going to Examination In Public. Before councillors could vote, the Minister of State for Housing, Planning and Building Safety, Lee Rowley MP wrote to the Council instructing that the examination continues as planned.
In 2022, Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council created a Community Grant Fund to provide financial support to charity, voluntary and non-commercial organisations running initiatives for the benefit of the parish and/or its inhabitants.
This is an annual award given to a person who has devoted outstanding time and energy for the benefit of the community of Stratfield Mortimer, irrespective of whether or not they live in the village.
