Tennis Court Access

The issue with the access gate has now been rectified and players should be able to access the courts for their confirmed bookings again.

If you encounter any issues with the gate not opening when entering your valid PIN, please contact the Parish Council office.

Mortimer Station Car Park Planning Application

On Wednesday, 5th August, the Eastern Area Planning Committee (EAPC) of West Berkshire Council discussed the Parish Council’s application for planning permission for an additional station car park. The case officer’s recommendation was for refusal. After an in-depth debate it was unanimously resolved that more information was required to clarify some of the issues which had led to the recommendation for refusal and the decision was deferred. EAPC will debate the application again at a future date when the case officer has obtained that information.

LTA Tennis Booking Distruption

The LTA website will undergo essential maintenance between 06.00 AM on Sunday 2nd August 2020 and 11.00 AM on Monday 3rd August 2020.

Unfortunately, during this time, it means you may not be able to access/book on the SMPC ClubSpark platform using your LTA log in credentials.

All other means of login; ClubSpark, Facebook and Google, will function as normal.

Update On Mortimer Station Car Park Planning Application

The planning application for the proposed car park on the south-east side of Mortimer Station (20/00674/FUL) is due to go before the Eastern Area Planning Committee on 5th August and a decision will be issued shortly after.

New Covid Recovery Grant

A new small pot of funding is available from West Berkshire Council to help local areas recover from Covid-19. Each District Councillor can support a local project, or projects, up to £1000. No match funding is required, and the money can be used for revenue or capital expenditure. In the Burghfield and Mortimer ward, the three District Councillors have agreed to pool their grants so there is one pot of £3k to apply to.
