2019 Parish Council Elections

1. Forms of nomination for Parish Elections may be obtained from Clerks to Parish Councils or West Berkshire Council's Market Street Offices in Newbury, from the Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area, prepare a nomination paper for signature.

2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at West Berkshire Council's Market Street Offices in Newbury on any day after the date of this notice, but no later than 4pm on Wednesday 3 April 2019.

3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

4. Applications to register to vote must read the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Friday 12 April 2019. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at West Berkshire Council, Market Street Offices in Newbury by 5pm on Monday 15 April 2019.

6. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at West Berkshire Council, Market Street Offices in Newbury by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2019.

7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2019, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at West Berkshire Council, Market Street Offices in Newbury by 5pm on Thursday 2 May 2019.

Notice of Election - Town and Parish Councillors 

There is still plenty of time for residents to register to vote in the May elections if they have not already done so. Residents have until Friday 12 April and they can register to vote online (opens in new window) in just a few minutes or opt to register to vote by post (opens in new window).

Residents are able to vote by post if they prefer to, or to apply for a proxy vote which allows another person to cast their vote for them. The deadline for new postal votes and changes to existing postal vote details is Monday 15thApril, and the applications to vote by proxy must be submitted by Wednesday 24 April.
