West Berkshire Draft Local Flood Risk Management Strategy

West Berkshire Council have released their draft Local Flood Risk Management Strategy for 2021-2026 and need your say on it. The current strategy needs updating, so West Berkshire Council have worked with Parish and Town Councils, professional partners in flood risk management, and community Flood Forums to prepare a new draft strategy for 2021-2026 (opens in new window) that now needs to be consulted on.

The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS), sets out how they will work with professional partners and local communities to better understand local flooding, communicate risks and manage unacceptable risks both now and in the future. It also helps individuals, communities and businesses understand local flood risk, what action they can expect to see with regards to local flood risk management, and what action they can take to reduce their risk from future flood events.

The consultation started on Monday 23 August and will be open for 6 weeks. To take part in the consultation and have your say on the draft strategy, you can complete their survey (opens in new window)by Sunday, 3rd October 2021.

If you have any questions about the survey, or you would prefer a paper copy to complete the survey, please contact Stuart Clark, Principle Engineer via email at stuart.clark@westberks.gov.uk.
