Notice of Casual Vacancy
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that, further to a resignation, a casual vacancy has arisen on the Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council. Details of the announcement are available here (pdf opens in new window).
If, within 14 days (excluding weekends and holidays) after the date of this Notice, a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer of West Berkshire District Council by at least ten electors, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy.
If the Returning Officer receives fewer than ten written requests for an election by Wednesday, 4th May 2022, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
