SMPC Coronavirus Update

Further to the new rules from H M Government announced on Monday 23rd March, the play areas, MUGA and tennis courts on The Fairground will be closed to the public until further notice.

The Fairground will remain open for exercise purposes ONLY. If going there please adhere to the rule that you can only go there ALONE or with members of YOUR HOUSEHOLD. Do not go there to meet anyone outside your household even friend(s) or family. A distance of at least two meters should be maintained.

All Parish Councils meetings are cancelled until at least the 14th May or unless legislation changes which allows local authority meetings to run under a different format. The Council will continue to operate with the Officers, Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Members taking decisions in accordance with the approved delegation.

The Council office is closed, and all enquiries should be made via telephone and email. The contact details are as follows: 0118 933 1995; the.clerk@stratfield-mortimer.gov.uk or admin@stratfield-mortimer.gov.uk

“Ali’s Recycling for the Local Community” scheme is currently suspended and with the Parish office being closed, there is no access to the recycling bins. Please collect and save your recycling at home until the scheme is restarted and the office reopens.

It is with great sadness that the VE Day 75 commemorations will not be able to go ahead in May but, in line with national guidance from the Pageant Master General, the Council will keep under review the possibility of the event taking place on the weekend of 15th (VJ Day) / 16th August.
