The Parish Council Steering Group is preparing a detailed 40-page response to the Basingstoke & Deane proposal. This work has been informed by meetings and correspondence with planning professionals, Englefield Estate, AWE, and other relevant stakeholders.
| | | We have engaged widely, including with local Members of Parliament, the police, the Office for Nuclear Development, West Berkshire Council’s emergency planning team, local and Hampshire schools, health services, the fire service, electricity and water providers, archaeologists, the Integrated Care Board, and countryside and environmental charities.
| | | At this stage, there is no single issue that is likely, on its own, to result in the proposal being withdrawn. Our strongest opportunity to influence the outcome at Regulation 18 is through a substantial and visible level of public objection.
| | | Currently, there are 392 objections recorded on the Basingstoke & Deane website. This is not enough.
| | | If you care about the future of Mortimer and not every adult in your household has submitted an objection, please do so now.
| | | How to Object
| | | You can object in any of the following ways:
| | | | • | Online – follow the instructions here:
|
| | | | | | | • | Paper form – available from the Library or the Parish Office. Please do not post forms at this stage, as they may arrive too late. Instead, return them via the Library letterbox.
|
| | | | | ○ | A clear statement that you object to SPS5.15 – Land at West End Farm, Mortimer
|
| | ○ | Your reasons for objecting
|
| | | However you choose to respond, please act immediately.
| | | Links are provided below to the latest correspondence sent by the Basingstoke & Deane Steering Group to AWE and the Office for Nuclear Development, along with the map of West End Farm referred to within that correspondence.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Warm regards,
| | | Councillor David Kilshaw Chairman, Basingstoke & Deane Local Plan Steering Group
